People’s Choice Awards 2012: “How I Met Your Mother” räumt ab
Es ist das wohl größte Rennen um die Gunst der Fans, seit es Award-Shows gibt: Die Verleihung des „People’s Choice Award“. Auch in diesem Jahr stimmten wieder mehr als 200 Millionen Menschen über ihre Lieblings-Stars aus Film, Fernsehen und Musik ab. Während Katy Perry in den meisten musikalischen Kategorien absahnte, war die Kult-Sitcom „How I Met Your Mother“ der klare Sieger im Kampf um die beliebteste TV-Serie.

Gestern Abend war es mal wieder soweit und eine Heerschar an A-Prominenten durfte sich auf dem roten Teppich der „People’s Choice Awards“ gegenseitig auf die Füße treten. Das Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles stand Kopf, auch wenn die Abräumerin des Jahres, Katy Perry, kurzfristig ihr Kommen absagen musste.
Die Show war mal wieder Hollywoodreif inszeniert: Während Twilight-Star Robert Pattinson mit seiner radikalen Kurzhaar-Frisur überraschte, stahl Neil Patrick Harris, der Star aus „How I Met Your Mother“, der Moderatorin Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory) die Show, indem er mit zwei Tänzerinnen den Host-Job an sich reißen wollte. Als bester Hauptdarsteller wurde zum zweiten Mal in Folge Johnny Depp gewählt, Rob Pattinson hatte also wieder einmal das Nachsehen.
Gleich in zwei Kategorien räumte die Serie „How I Met Your Mother“ ab. Zum einen gewann sie vor „The Big Bang Theory“ den Preis als beste Comedy-Serie. Zum anderen wurde Katy Perrys Gastauftritt bei der New Yorker Clique als beste überhaupt geehrt.
Das Besondere an den “People’s Choice Awards” ist, dass, wie der Name schon erraten lässt, alle Gewinner ausschließlich vom Publikum gewählt sind. So bekommen auch die Stars, Serien und Filme eine Chance abgefeiert zu werden, die sonst von den Kritikern verschmäht werden.
